During my PhD project in My old lab, I started to work on cancer lines, especially with a human chronic myeloid leukemia lines. I obtained original results in vitro on the regulation of p53 homologs by NO in these leukemia cells. In the 3rd year of my thesis, through a scholarship from the ARC, I appreciated the opportunity to continue this work on a medullary cancer of the thyroid, experimenting a new association of NSAID and a chemical donor of nitric oxide for therapeutic purpose. I hope to validate new strategies to advance the treatment of this human disease.
Financial support from the ARC has boosted my performance, I published my first article on the regulation by NO of a subunit of ribonucleotide reductase (p53R2) involved in DNA repair and response to stress. I provided convincing evidence on its role in maintaining DNA integrity. I'm finishing the redaction of my second paper with a huge motivation.
