Amandine Hamel

I am in charge of leading Lean Six Sigma projects for Sabena technics (aeronautical maintenance company), for the activity Component services (repair of airplane equipments).

In 2010 and 2011, I have managed 3 Lean Six Sigma projects on the repair site in Bruxelles:
1. Set up the Internal Repair Management service, after benchmarking with other repair sites (Bordeaux and Dinard)
2. Reduce Shop Process Time of the Wheels workshop (from 19 days to target of 5 days)
3. Divide by 3 the rate of BAE equipments on hold for missing spare parts

I was working on an experimental project: “Avoidance behaviours induced in Paramecium by laser radiation”.
I studied the defense and escape mechanisms of Paramecium when subjected to laser radiation.

This project led to a publication in the journal PNAS of May 2011.
