André Medawar
Integration and Validation Engineer, R&D, Avent Lidar Technology
I am part of the Research and Development team. My experience can be presented as the following:
October 2010 to July 2011; Contributing in the development of a Doppler Lidar prototype that is mounted on top of a wind turbine:
- New design validation
- Supply Chain
- Integration and data Validation
- Onsite Installation in Europe
August 2011 to February 2012; Participation in the industrialisation process of a Doppler Lidar product that is integrated in the nacelle of a wind turbine:
- New design validation
- Supply Chain
- Production supervision
- Integration and product Validation
2010 - 2010The internship prompted me to enquire about, analyze, assemble and validate LIDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) systems that will serve the field of wind energy.
2009 - 2009The internship consisted of establishing a connector model for multimode Optical Fibers
- Co-Publication of a paper for the IWCS conference
- Conception of an optical fiber connector model
- Study of the effect of different fiber characteristics on the performance of a transmission system
- Modeling of connector losses between two multimode fibers.
- Comparison to measurements done in the laboratory.
2008 - 2008The objective of the traineeship was to establish an Optical link with a Polymer Optical Fiber for the AFDX (an Avionic Ethernet Protocol)
- Contact with German & European suppliers
- Test of the link
