2008 - 2009Travelled in South Africa, Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Greece.
Volunteering for the Kraal Toddlers NPO and the Kraal Backpackers (Nov-Dec 2008, Wild Coast, South Africa), I helped assess the renewable energy resources, prospects and the potential impact on the environment. My results included suggestions for achieving higher levels of sustainability for the organisation.
Backpacking, I met many people of differing cultural background and was able to adapt quickly to new situations, which enhanced my communication skills and broadened my mind.
MSc Research Project for PHOTONENERGY at Loughborough University, United Kingdom. (4 months), Loughborough University / Photon Energy
2008 - 2008I was optimising inverter configuration and settings for PROVEN ENERGY 6kW and 15kW wind turbines for the industrial partner PHOTONENERGY. I created a MATLAB program linked to a graphical user interface that calculates the energy yield and costs for different inverter(s) configurations and wind resources. I established a systematic procedure to configure the inverters parameters according to specific wind resource and turbine parameters. This project has strengthened my knowledge about wind turbines theory and wind resource assessment, my skills in programming and working in autonomy within objectives and short deadlines. Result: 79%
2007 - 2007I was programming software to ease product design (design and simulation of asynchronous machines, stress concentration, thermal shocks, fluidic losses, harmonic analysis for rotating machines). I validated my models with different experimentation results. This internship developed strong programming and experimental skills. I also gained skills in engineering design, teamwork and project management.
2006 - 2007I updated the online database for NAUTICEXPO website on products related to marine and water sport engineering. I had to find relevant information about products on datasheets from different manufacturers. This trainee period improved my database, organisation and information handling skills
Communication manager for official receptions « Arts & Métiers », Aix en Provence, France (2 years), Student Union of ENSAM
2005 - 2007Member of a 8 people-team, we managed to lead 200 students to build up 5 events gathering each up to 5000 people where I experienced budget management (150keuros), canvassing of sponsors, medias and artists relations, advertising display, design of leaflets and finally I was responsible for the creation of the Internet site.
2005 - 2005Worked on the test and assembly line for Dolphin helicopters, helped assemble and test products. I experienced the industrial aspects related to quality in aeronautics, deadlines, costs and teamwork.
2003 - 2009For 5 summers, I was responsible for training and safety of my trainees and also had to deal with practical issues relating to equipment and maintenance of the vessel.
