I am currently working for Alcatel-Lucent University where I give training to worldwide mobile operators on Alcatel-Lucent 3G products: Nodes B and RNC.

I still keep in mind the project of relocating to North America in a mid term future, where I would work in the mobile telephony domain on the terminal equipment or in the network side.

If you are interested in my profile, feel free to contact me! I would be happy to hear from you.

Professional experience
2008 - 2008

(6 months, from february to august 2008)

The goal of the internship was the study and the implementation of RF power control solutions for an UMTS mobile phone (R99 + HSDPA + HSUPA).
There were three steps:
- Bibliography about 3G mobile communications, 3GPP Norms (25.101 and 25.211 to 25.214), and a state of the art of the power loop in a 3G mobile phone (composed of the PAs, couplers, detector and RFIC + Baseband architecture). A document was created to analyse the different architectures for RF power control, and the different types of RF power detectors available.
- Intensive study of two power detectors: peak detectors, the first is a diode detector in an IC, the second is a diode detector using lumped elements. The detectors were stressed over temperature, frequency, power, and signal patterns. The lumped elements detector was investigated on in order to determine the role of each component (resistors and capacitors), so that the performances could be improved.
- The chosen detector (diode lumped elements) was integrated on Renesas' RF form factor board, and the tests in temperature, frequency, power and signal patterns were again performed. The board had slight adjustments to make in order to recover the best performances possible.

I hence was able to use all the RF hardware I now master: spectrum analysers, RF generators, network analyser, measurement automation using a computer and the GPIB bus, etc.

Moreover, I experienced the need of analysing binary data coming from the LVDS link between the RF IC and the baseband, and this is where my personal knowledge in PC programing was really useful. Indeed, I was rapidly able to create small C tools which retrieved, parsed and managed the binary data I needed to analyse. This knowledge in PC programming hence allowed me to save much time.

Additionaly, during my internship, I had to take care of another younger intern, explaining her how to use the equipment in the RF lab, and all the tools Renesas uses to develop its mobile platforms.

Electronics and microelectronics
2007 - 2007

(two months, summer 2007)

The goal of the internship was to develop services on NewLC's web portal, for the profesionnal accounts.
NewLC develops software for the Symbian platform, and the services available on the web portal were tools which help software debugging, by communicating with the mobile phone and showing reports and analysis.

I worked with the webmaster in charge using the Drupal Content Management System, with PHP / MySQL programming under GNU/Linux and Apache.
My personal experiences in the web programming domain helped me and allowed me to finish the work to do before the end of my internship.
I hence was given more work, and I needed to create a tool which would allow every employee of the enterprise to select on which projects s/he spent his work time. This timesheet tool was very useful for the manager, which rapidly could see how much time his employees work on his customers projects, and this truly eased the facturation process.
