Bernard JOB
Born in Blois, Bernard JOB studied music at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique of Paris, where he won several first prizes, including the one for the piano, which he was awarded by unanimous vote. Having received a prize at the International Competition of Lisbon, as well as a Gold Medal at the French Guild of Soloists, he performed at concerts in the United States with the violonist Régis PASQUIER and with numerous other string instrumentalists ( Gérard POULET, Ivry GILTLIS, ...)
His favourite repertoire consists of sonatas and trios for string instruments. He is regularly invited to play , both solo and with orchestras led by conductors such as Philippe ENTREMONT. He frequently goes on tour in Europe for the Jeunesses Musicales ( Young Musicians) and was in charge of organizing the concerts of le Val-de-Loire region from 1978 to 1981. Here he arranged concerts for young artists who have today achieved international renown.
His encounter with John-Patrick MILLOW subsequently directed him towards the two-piano repertory.
They made several recards together, among them the two-piano version of Igor Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, which was awarded the Grand Prix Audiovisuel of Europe and the Prix de l'Académie du Disque Français in 1984.
At the request of the Editions Van de Velde, they created a method for teachiing adults to play the piano, "Le Piano à portée de Mains", which soon became a reference book and was translated into several languages, including Japanese.
