My professional interests are eclectic, though remain essentially in the area of social sciences. These have led me to travel around the world: organising and attending major international conferences, running international projects from one continent to another, translating and contributing to university research, promoting human rights and the civil society.
Today, my work falls into several categories:
translation and interpretation (English/French); involvement in international programmes, often using my language skills and networking opportunities in Anglophone and Francophone countries; professional writing including research, report-writing and rewriting services; international project management.
Beside these, wherever I live, I seek out volunteer activities that open up opportunities for helping others while enriching my life: sometimes these are cultural (amateur chamber opera group in Canberra, Australia; history of women in Marseilles, France; evening classes in art and culture; contribution to social activities in disadvantaged areas (particularly for women and youth groups); promotion of rights of minorities (women, migrants, etc.).
What links all this together? the pleasure of putting people in contact with each other, with other ideas and cultures, with new ideas and of contributing to the changes taking place in the world today.
