Catherine Lao

I have a Bachelor’s degree in “Information Technology Applied to Business Administration” and a Master’s degree in “New Information Technology”, two French degrees which allow me to acquire strong technical and functional knowledge.

My experiences started with a Co-op with my Bachelor’s, in a web company specialized in PHP technology. This experience allowed me to increase my developer’s skills putting in practice my knowledge. I was also in charge of several web projects; I discover every step of a project, from the analysis and specification redaction to installation, using the V-Model. By taking an active part in the projects I worked on, I learned how to lead a project and I gained very good teamwork skills and a greater sense of responsibilities.

I worked for almost two years at Prosodie in J2EE technologies. I developed my sensibility to n-tier architecture and to architectural pattern MVC. In the same time, I improved my multi-tasking capacity, my confidence in the development and my ability to work on my own and so my productivity and efficiency. I also gained in autonomy, rigour and adaptation ability. I also participated in specifications phases answering to particular demands of clients as a Business Analyst.
This placement was very rewarding and further increased my desire to go deeper in enhance my knowledge in J2EE technologies but also in project management.

I am very hard-working, willing to learn and persistent, and by my 5-years-experience, I have obtained a high degree of flexibility and a very good time management.


I'm in New York as a VIE (French Programm) in a company which provides financial software for Market Data and Trading services. This job is an opportunity to open my mind to a new sector. I also learn new technologies (.NET, C#, protocole FIX).
As a team leader in the NY office, I can manage working in a international company, with local processes but also global ones.
