I am a guest lecturer at the CNAM on Corporate Social Responsability (CSR).
Over the last 20 years I have been very active in the Management Consulting Business. Currently I head up with Sylvie PAYOUX ADHERE RH which specialises in bringing companies with formal framework and methodologies to identify problems or efficient ways of performing business and human resources tasks.
ADHERE RH is a strong supporter and advocate for business leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).CSR requires leadership. Therefore CEOs and HR Directors must make clear that their companies will uphold human rights in their operations.
In October 2011, the European Commission published a new policy on corporate social responsibility. It states that to fully meet their social responsibility, enterprises "should have in place a process to integrate social, environmental, ethical and human rights concerns into their business operations and core strategy in close collaboration with their stakeholders".
We believe that corporations commitment to diversity has great potential to improve the workplace. More and more companies in the US, UK and now in France aknowledge the importance of engaging in diversity management and making diversity a business consideration. Costs savings and winning the competition for talent are often cited as strong arguments for the pursuit of diversity initiatives, but also increased marketplace understanding, greater creativity, higher problem-solving, and improved leadership effectiveness.
On the other hand, the workplace is one of the front-lines in fight against discrimination on the basis of gender, race, age, disability, sexual orientation, background and other qualities. Corporate social responsibility requires leadership. Therefore CEOs and HR Directors must make clear that their companies will uphold human rights in their operations.
People with disabilities are being discriminated on a daily basis. ADHERE RH helps promote the employment and the integration of the people with disabilities in all areas of business and raise awareness of the barriers they face.
We provide employers with training programmes on how to facilitate the employment of people with disabilities within their organisations, to breakdown the negative preconceptions that may exist. We believe it is imperative for companies to mainstream disability throughout their organisations, through their HR functions and their recruitment practices.
