Emma Vandore
Chef de service economie/ Head of the economic service France, Associated Press
Currently the head of the economics service at the Associated Press in Paris, I have ten years experience in newspaper and agency journalism. I have a BA (ECON) from Manchester University and I was awarded one of the top three grades in the U.K. for my economics and politics A-Level. Last year, my first book Schizophrenie Francaise, a personal take on French economics and politics was published in France.
My current job gives me extensive all-round experience of almost every corporate sector in France _ from aerospace to energy to luxury and consumer goods to banks. I have also made major contributions to the AP’s coverage of the financial crisis, most recently travelling to Washington for the G-20 summit.
Prior to the AP, I spent six years at Bloomberg. I started out in Brussels, where I covered the introduction of the euro and the collapse of the stability pact as well as all matters ECB-related. When Bloomberg decided to boost their political coverage in Paris, they asked me to come and head it up.
Head of the economic service for the Associated Press in Paris, I am responsible for everything from coverage of Airbus A380 deliveries to Societe Generale's multi-billion dollar trading scandal, to French wine production.
