Product development for Scania

For 2 years I have been leading Continuous Improvement Projects, using 6 Sigma DMAIC methods. Here are my main projects:

> Sub-assemblies supply lead time reduction in order to increase production line flexibility and improve our capacity to supply our customers. This project came to a process redesign of the flow and to the in sourcing of sub-assembly manufacturing.
- Annual savings: 500 000 $ -

> Leakage risk reduction on a new Fuel and Water Separator. This project proved that suppliers process were not under control. Action plan and control plans were set up in suppliers.
- Annual savings: 200 000 $ -

> Filtration media scrap reduction on an Air Filter line. This project put in evidence 2 main process of scrap, one which was optimized by parameters correction and the other which was solved by redesigning the process.
- Annual savings: 100 000 $ -

> Optimization of gloves usage in order to improve operator protection at the lowest cost.
- Annual savings: 50 000 $ -

I’m also deeply involved into the lean transformation of the plant by participating to Kaizen events, setting up the takt time, installing dashboard and reducing wastes.

> DFSS Project leader : Crankcase ventilation filter design optimization for a European truck manufacturer

> DFSS Project leader : Air filter outer body redesign and validation by using statistical tools
- Annual savings: 500 000 $ -
