Medical Equipment
2008 - 2009

Context : The company Mérial wanted a Packaging Engineer immediately to cover for a person who had to go on the USA site for three months.

During this period, my main project was the optimisation of adhesive labels. I planned the project. I had a meeting with our label’s supplier to talk about the solutions we were going to test. I realized the protocol with person in charge of quality. I ordered a number of stickers samples with the person in charge of purchasing.

I had a meeting with the operators of the packaging line to present the solutions. Then, I planned the packaging test with the production department. I led the test and analyzed the results.
I reported my final results to my boss.
This project taught me the importance of good communication.
In addition to my main project, I managed a few small projects like: eco-designing, problem of cardboard quality,…

Health and pharmaceutical
2008 - 2008

From May to September 2008, I was employed by Segula Technologie which is an engineering company. Segula gave me a mission for Renault-Trucks which consisted in determining and developing adequate packaging according to the parameters of costs, times and quality for truck spare parts.

So, I wrote a packaging specification for truck spare parts which joined constraints: logistics, temperature and humidity, qualities, costs and reglementary.

A precedent packaging specification didn’t exist before, therefore I discussed with the different person in charge of logistics, quality, costs, methods to collect information. I send this specification to our providers and I managed feedbacks workload of their responses by planning and following actions (…)
And I compared economicly the solutions of our providers.

Automobile
2005 - 2007

During my Master of Packaging, from September 2005 to September 2007, I experienced on- the-job training.

The first year, I worked within the designing department. I proposed different packaging solution which responded to the customer’s specifications.
I created 2-D plans.
I created prototypes.
I did an estimate of the solutions.

The second year, I worked in the Quality Department. I ensured the quality control of cardboard packaging before dispatching to customer.
Also, I trained an employee to be in charge of the laboratory. This employee assisted a salesman and she was tranfered to this department so I trained her.

Packaging
2005 - 2005

During my training period from April to August 2005, I was employed by ELVIR. My position was Packaging Development Manager within the purchasing department.

Context : I optimized an existing packaging. It was a chocolate cream desert packaging for exportation and the operators on the packaging line increase the sealing’s temperature in order not to have a leak so the sealing’s temperature was too high and it was too hard to open easily for the consumer.

My goal was to define the sealing’s temperature which offers the best compromise between sealing and “easy-opening”.

I worked on protocol.
I tested the easy-opening packaging with different sealing’s temperature.
I analysed results.
I determined the sealing’s temperature optimal.
I reported a problem of balance of sealing on the “Form-feel-seal” line to the Production Manager. Then, we contacted the supplier of this “Form-feel-seal” who sent us a technician to solve this problem.

Managing progression of Packaging Projects.

Context: Carrefour wanted its customers like Elvir to use Shelf Ready Packaging (SRP) as soon as possible. It’s very dangerous to open the packaging with a cuter and it took a long time to put the product in the aisle. For Carrefour, the SRP was the solution because it’s safer and faster. That’s the reason why Elvir wanted to use SRP quickly.

My goal was to test two solutions of SRP.
1st solution: Cardboard box with precut
2nd solution: Cardboard box with band strip

I tested these SRP on the packaging line then with transport testing and to finish opening testing to check if these SRP would be well-cut.
