2005 - 2008December 2005 ==> Until 2008 - Tunisia - 12 missions: (sectorial and key expert S&T) : Contract to provide technical assistance to the Tunisian Ministry of Scientific Research. in biotechnology-pharmacy, sciences and innovation policies( Sidi Thabet Technopole) and financed by the European Investments Bank (EIB), through the FEMIP (Euro-Mediterranean Fund for Investment and Partnership).
on the under UGPO Ministry of Scientific research, technology and competency Support to the setup and development of five Technopoles of Sousse, Sfax, Monastir, Bizerte and Sidi Thabet, specialised in sectors regarded as the most relevant ones for the Tunisian economy.
The following activities are included in the technical assistance:
Action 2 – organisation and management of each Technopole’s components and of the relations among them, detailed definition and functioning of the Technopoles, and search for links and synergies among the components;
Action 3 – definition and carry out of a marketing strategy for each technopole, networking with other Technopoles, involvement of Tunisian local authorities and chambers of commerce, and of other stakeholders at European level;
Action 4 – development of an organisational model and of management tools for each technopole’s main components, in particular for technological resources centres, business incubators and common services;
Action 5 – Creation of an organisational scheme of each Technopole’s animation structure (UGPO), assistance to the carry out and transfer of knowledge and of know how;
Action 6 – Targeted and specialised technical assistance in response to each technopole’s needs, in particular those of research centres and of technical resources centres.
The Sidi Thabet Technopole, which will cover a 98 ha surface, will include research labs, training and academic institutions, business incubators and locations for enterprises. The structure will have the role of stimulating innovation among Tunisian bio-technology -pharmacy enterprises, fostering the partnership between research and business.
