Julie Labille
Project coordinator, SDL
Hi,
My name is Julie Labille. I recently graduated from ISIT, a school of Intercultural Communication and Management, located in Paris 06. I have a Master's degree in Intercultural Communication and Translation along with a Master's degree in linguistic engineering at the Paris 7 University.
Since 2005, I have had the opportunity to gain some professional experience. Indeed, every summer from 2005 to 2008, I used to work for a Dutch company called De Lage Landen Leasing, based in La Défense. It is a global provider of leasing, business and consumer finance solutions.
In 2008, I did an internship at BoConcept, a furniture and accessories retailer which aims at offering design furniture at affordable prices for urban-minded customers. Following my mission at BoConcept, I set up my own translation company and since October 2008, I have been a freelancer.
I am currently looking for a first job in translation or as a community manager.
In the future, I would like to be a translator for the European institutions.
I use Viadeo to winden my professional circle, to show my abilities in the business world in order, hopefully, to find a job.
I was in charge of translating every document I was given. I did not work for one department but for the whole company.
I translated press releases, training modules, the Intranet, internal mails (for internal communication).
I also reread the new website and the new catalogue. I had to check and correct spelling, grammar and translation mistakes in French.
2005 - 2008I had to do the basics of a commercial assistant's job, i.e, I was in charge of financial requests from clients. I had to initiate contracts, study clients' balance sheets etc ...
I occasionnaly did some translations.
I worked there every summer from 2005 and 2006. In May 2008, I was called to do a mission for the company. I had to help the team with professional taxes (make them, send them, call the clients etc...).
