Last year internship : Setting up of Lean Manufacturing principles on the MCset’s production cell.

Job description :
My project was a part of a global settlement of Lean Manufacturing on a European scale at Schneider Electric which aim was to improve productivity but also logistics and purchasing.

Goal :
Use of the Kaizen methodology on the production cell in order to implement Lean Manufacturing and SIM (Short Interval Management) which are SPS basics (Schneider Production System).

Development of the activities :
- Analysis of current situation (operating time study, product options analysis, determination of the takt time, measure of performance indicators of the cell).
- Methods agent during the Kaizen working.
- Improvement of line-side workstations.
- Setting up and formation to SIM tools.
- Order of new production devices.
- Implementation of visual indicators (assembly and work-in-process zones, workstations identification, full/empty box indicators).

Investment : 18k€

Results :
- Increase of the productivity of 22%.
- Cell-floor gain of 15%.
- Control of work-in-process
- Ergonomics improvements.
- Workers flexibility.
- Reduction of products crossing time by 68%.

Improvement of the pneumatic valve for the SYEGON System.

Job description :
The SYEGON System is a tire pressure controlling device used on 4-wheeled or 8-wheeled vehicles in order to fit to the ground on which the vehicle is moving.

Development of the activities :
- Design with Catia V5 and realization of two valve prototypes in order to solve the problems linked to the former one.
- Suppliers searching.
- Tests on the first prototype.
- Development of a new manufacturing sequence.
- Realization of a FMECA.

Results :
- First prototype assembled and tested.
- Parts of the second prototype ordered.

Programmation with Excel of a file for custumers’ administration.

Job description :
Realization of a back-office computer program in Visual Basic for custumers’ administration. The aim of the file was to gather information in order to have an exhaustive and synthetic view of them, to import and export data and to automate several tasks.
