Léo Cavaillé
Élève ingénieur en 2e année, Centrale Paris
I am currently looking for an six-month internship in IT businesses or innovative fields.
Indeed, my scholarship at Ecole Centrale Paris allows me to acquire all the know-how and master useful skills in scientific, business fields & project management. My courses are mixed around some theoretical and practical aspects.
Because I always feel the need to apply what I have learnt, I chose to include a six-month internship in my cursus rather than an academic exchange or laboratory researcher.
Out of the syllabus, I am part of VIA Centrale Réseaux, a student club which offers to the whole campus some services. Among them, a high-speed connection, many social websites to share events on the campus, watch the TV in your room, communication between students.
Within the club, I am leading a team of seven students to manage the technical aspects of UNIX platforms, which represent almost 95% of our servers. I had the opportunity to work on several projects that I led, besides, I tried to share my skills and know-how in some courses (in partnership with Ecole Centrale Paris for some of them). I have always been eager to plan some trainings for my team in order to keep in touch with the technologies that are actually used in companies nowadays.
During my first and second year at Ecole Centrale Paris, I had the opportunity to be part of some projects : offered by a startup, and another one on open-source software that I'm leading right now (backup solutions for professionals).
2011 - 2011Six-week blue-collar internship that is part of my Centrale Paris scholarship.
The East Paris workshop is one of the biggest (in terms of activity) workshop in France, it works with 26 shops.
This internship has been the occasion to know how people work together in a company.
My work focused on three points :
- logistics
- bike mechanics
- certification of workshops in Decathlon's shops as a normal client (quality of service)
2010 - 2011Our team realized a report concerning the issues and market research about CheckMyMetro.
This startup aims at gathering a social network around the commuting users. It starts with the idea everyone in the subway, train or bus is bored with everyday transport, CheckMyMetro allows you to share events you go by such as musicians, ads, weird things or anything you like or dislike... These events are called "checks".
We were working closely with Benjamin Suchar, founder of this startup, in order to promote his smartphone applications on the web. We designed the website that is now online, and integrated a new feature we suggested in our study : display the "checks" on a map.
Therefore, we used Google Maps API, PHP, HTML and CSS, some mock-up softwares to improve our display.
