Mao CHAN
Chargé d'Affaires Entreprises Commerce International, BNP Paribas
Aged 34, I have a work experience of 12 years in the bank industry, especially in the field of business banking.
I fulfilled a Master in International Business at the University Paris Est - Créteil Val de Marne (1999). After several internships for the bank industry or in the financial department of an industrial company, I joined in 2000 HSBC Group for which I worked for more than 6 years, as Quality Policy Officer for the COO, and afterwards as Relationship Manager in a branch (Professional customers and Small Businesses).
Reaching 30 was perfect time for a change : I joined Fortis Banque staff in 2006 (French subsidiary of the BENELUX based banking and insurance group Fortis) first as Deputy Branch Manager at Rueil Malmaison and lately as Branch Manager at Nogent sur Marne.
Sometimes you decide for a change, other times change decides for you !
After the turmoil of the 2008 financial crisis and a giant takeover of French banking giant BNP Paribas on Fortis, I finally joined the first financial group in France and worldwide Top 10. What a satisfaction for a Master in International Business to be Senior Trade Manager in such an international group.
I also used to teach Finance at my former University (Paris Est - Créteil Val de Marne). My students in 3rd year of Licence International Business were obvisouly very motivated by the felted universe of international finance.
Except working for the bank or the university, the main priorities of my agenda are my wife and my 2 loves, Christina (almost 6 but a strong temper!) and Benjamin (2).
Fortis Banque France is the local susbsidiary of Fortis Group in France focused on "Entreprises & Entrepreneurs".
Fortis is an international provider of banking and insurance services to personal, business and institutional customers.
