My previous position with Carrefour as a Database and Pricing Manager in Tokyo, Japan gave me the opportunity to develop my skills in database management, reporting and data analysis by:
- Building over 50 daily, weekly or monthly updated Access databases available through a secured internal network in a user-friendly environment.
- Creating ad-hoc Excel reports using key metrics for each department (Grocery, Fresh, Appliances, Bazaar, Textile, Marketing and Finance).
- Setting up a daily reporting to the Merchandise Director, a monthly briefing to the Board of Directors (Pricing, Turnover, Volume of Sales and Share between categories, Promotional activity) and a quarterly reporting to Carrefour Asia Head Office (Pricing Situation and Sales Results).
- Publishing a monthly newsletter with recommendations by product category after analysis of the AC Nielsen competitor’s market data.
My diverse business experiences have not only strengthened my aptitude to manage huge databases and develop my computer literacy (Access, SQL, Excel and PowerPoint), but also helped me improve my verbal presentation and training skills in a multicultural environment. My Master's Certificate in Project Management from Georges Washington University provided me with the methodology in prioritizing and planning I needed to be able to fully manage global projects.
2007 - 2009POSITION:
- Analyze, develop and modify complex database: responsible from a technical standpoint for more than 80 DDD & TSA suppliers. I make recommendations and improve the way data are processed for some of these suppliers improving efficiency. I also work on bringing new suppliers on board, creating the entire data process.
- Take part in global project initiative: participate as a technical and data management expert in one of the EPM global project for managing contact compliance. I was in charge of defining metrics that should be used in this project.
SKILLS:
- Develop my programming skills learning new languages as JCL, Synsort and Dylakor.
- Give me the opportunity to demonstrate my project management knowledge developed during my position at Carrefour and formalized with my Master’s Certificate in Project Management from ESI and GW University.
2004 - 2007IMS is the one global source for pharmaceutical market intelligence, providing critical information, analysis and services that drive decisions and shape strategies.
Just about every major pharmaceutical and biotech company in the world is a customer of IMS.
POSITION:
- Analyze: manage data quality assurance for a portfolio of 40 Canadian and US major pharmaceutical warehouses worth over 10 billion dollars sales a year.
- Develop and implement training sessions on Excel and Access for more than 40 sales analysts to help the data management team achieve quicker and more accurate results in daily data investigations.
- Problem solving and consulting: interact with customers, answering inquiries on portfolio data to insure the accuracy of critical information that drive decisions and strategies of leading pharmaceutical industries.
SKILLS:
- Develop my programming and computer literacy in data processing, working with the second largest database in the United States after Social Security and FBI.
- Give me the opportunity to adapt and perfect my analytical skills in another industry and fast growing environment, reinforcing my flexibility.
2003 - 2004White Toque is a leading importer of frozen specialty products to the food service trade in the United States.
POSITION:
- Create software to manage the warehouse's stock.
- Implement both software and methodology for Sales Analysis.
- Train employees on the new software and methodology.
- Develop marketing tools to increase sales in the store (merchandising, communication, visual identity...)
SKILLS:
Develop my marketing skills along my computer knowledge. Besides the price matter in my previous job, I learn how to build a more global marketing strategy.
2000 - 2003Carrefour is a French Hypermarket company. The second largest after Wal-mart.
POSITION:
- Create and Innovate: Creation of first Databases and implementations of Merchandise information System before First Stores Opening (December 2000).
- Manage: Creation of the Business Development and Pricing Department with 5 persons at Head Office and 5 in each Store Price Survey Team.
- Decide and Organize: Set up of National Pricing Policy and customized computer software to manage it.
- Develop: Set up an Internal Information Network ("User-friendly" customized Access Databases on Intranet Network to help management gauge product penetration, overall product performances, promotion effectiveness and Price Sensitivity).
- Train: Organization of training sessions in both Head Office and Stores to introduce new software functionalities, internal process and methodology.
- Benchmark: Visit other Asian countries to benchmark Carrefour Pricing Policy and Data Management (Taiwan and Korea).
- Report and Analyze: Daily Reporting to Merchandise Director; Monthly Briefing to the Board of Directors (Pricing, Turnover, Volume of Sales and Share between categories, Promotional activity); Quarterly Reporting to Carrefour Asia Head Office (Pricing Situation and Sales Results).
- Analyze: Management of Market Data through AC Nielsen Software (Inf*act, Advisor and Spaceman).
SKILLS:
- Ability to work in an international environment (French and English as daily business language, Japanese with my team.
- Master my Computer knowledge (MS Excel and Access) with VBA language. Also use of AC Nielsen Software.
- Develop my communication skills by being able to train people on technical subjects.
