Massimiliano Lenardi

Massimiliano received his Master degree in Electrical Engineering in 1997 from the Trieste University (Italy) in collaboration with EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland).
He was a graduate student in 1997/1998 of the Doctoral School in Communication Systems at the Communication Systems Department of EPFL.
In 2002 Massimiliano received his PhD degree from Mobile Communications Department of EURECOM Institute (Sophia Antipolis, France) in the context of UMTS/WCDMA standard development at the physical OSI layer.
Currently working as Lab. Manager of the HITACHI Europe Laboratory in Sophia Antipolis (Information and Communication Technologies Lab.) and as Senior Researcher, formerly Leader of the Cooperative Systems Team, Massimiliano's research interests include Cooperative Systems over wireless Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs), Local and Personal Area Networks, at all OSI layers, with special focus on Network layer. An important effort is given to Vehicular MANETs (or VANETs) R&D. He is also involved in standardization activities at ETSI and in several National and FP7 European Projects linked to Vehicular Communications (GeoNet, PRE-DRIVE-C2X, iTETRIS, COVEL, DRIVE C2X, SCORE@F).
HITACHI Europe is Associate Member of the European Car-to-Car Communications Consortium (C2C-CC) and Full Member of the ETSI standardization body.
