2000 - 2001• Research investigations in piezoelectric materials, complex Young’s modulus measurements in environmental chambers using dynamic excitation (Madigovsky’s resonant technique). Developed a measurement technique for the determination of visco-elastic material properties with use of laser interferometry techniques.
• Thesis: Acoustic Determination of adhesive bond delaminations, potentially present on US Navy sonar arrays. Determination of complex group and phase velocities on submarine geometries. Complete characterization of the vibration associated with the defect, using Finite Element Analysis, analytical calculations, and wave propagation measurements.
