Nicole Conser
Marketing Intern, South by Southwest (SXSW)
Currently completing my final year as an International Business major at St. Edward's University in Austin, TX.
I studied at the Dallas International School for seven years, and am fluent in French (+ conversational Spanish). This multicultural environment spurred my interests in both traveling and music. I moved to France from Jan - Aug 2009, studying at the Amiens Superior Business School and interning at Mondomix Media, a World Music magazine/media company based in Paris.
Most recently I interned for South by Southwest 2010, working in the music department in Marketing, Business Development and Band Booking (SXSW is a Music, Film, and Interactive conference and festival in Austin, TX).
I'm always looking for a chance to combine my passions for music and other cultures while being surrounded by creative minds.
2009 - 2010SXSW is a Music, Film, and Interactive conference and festival in Austin, TX. I worked in the Music department, in Marketing, Business Development and Band Booking.
I created pitches for artists, sponsorship presentations & packages, drafted Artist E-mails and organized their campaign schedule. I conducted research in order to create sales and marketing spreadsheets to promote their business development. I also worked in conjunction with the art department, photo crew, and sales department.

2009 - 2010Bemba Entertainment books shows for multicultural artists at local venues, and also produces & hosts its own original events.
I would write bios for artists such as Gabriel Santiago, Dawni McCray, Hard Proof Afrobeat, El Tule, Azul, and Os Alquimistas. I would also distribute flyers for events, do event write-ups for their website, help manage & update the company's Facebook page. I also helped promote the Xemumba festival.
2009 - 2009+ Assistant to IODA France Representative
Mondomix is a World Music magazine based in Paris. I promoted bands, and helped with both back- and front-office (working with metadata, importing albums). I wrote and translated many of the album descriptions/artist summaries on the website into French, English, and some Spanish. I also managed the site's customer service system.
I was also given the opportunity to be the Assistant to the only IODA representative in France (Independent Online Distribution Alliance). For this I researched emerging independent artists and created a weekly marketing newsletter to send to all of the main MP3 platforms such as Virgin Mega, Nokia, iTunes France, Amazon France, FNAC, etc.
