My name is Ousmane Sidibe, currently majoring in Business and Legal Translation at the University of Cergy-Pontoise (2011-2012) located in Parisian region, France.

After working for the US Department of State at Conakry-based American Embassy respectively as Front Office Translator and Protocol Office Backup (June 2007- November 2010) and GSO Customer Service Representative (November 2010 - September 2011), in addition to my position as CEO of my own translation firm Oustrans Ltd (Ousmane Translation Services Limited) from March 2004 to September 2011, I am going back to school for another Master's in a very specialised field of translation studies as above mentioned.

With my seven years of practical experience in translation and office administration, I am looking for a part-time job as English-to-French translator and/or bilingual assistant, as I am studying now.

Sub-B Cashier Operation:
- Maintain sub-b cashier operation advance; Petty cash procedures with fiscal coding.
- Advance petty cash for purchases with GSO approval, Assure balances at all times.

Oversee issuance and usage of all Embassy Cell phones:
- Maintain update lists of Embassy cell phone holders and numbers.
- Ensure the Post Cell Phone Usage Policy and Bar-coding.
- Prepare new cell phones and SIM cards for new arrivals at Post.
- Act as point of contact for those with broken cell phones or cell batteries.
- Enter monthly phone bills into database and pass billing information to FMO.
- Draft correspondence for lost numbers, number changes and requests for new SIM cards.

Serve as Customer Service Liaison for GSO section:
- Act as first point of contact for GSO office by answering questions regarding the status of shipments, supply services, travel requests etc; track request status in a timely fashion.
- Ensure all requests for GSO services are properly filed by requester.

Other Administrative Duties:
- Maintain GSO filing system; Distributes pouch shipment notifications to travel & mailroom
- Prepare routine correspondence for GSO signature, and perform other duties as required.

Administration and Public Services
2007 - 2010

Translation Duties:
- Translate for Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission, Political/Economic Officer and Defense Attaché Office: official speeches, remarks, diplomatic notes, reports, State cables/telegrams, invitations, administrative letters, contracts, technical documents, unclassified and classified records, and various other correspondences.
- Proofread, edit and revise documentations for contextually accurate and linguistic for consistency, faithfulness to the very spirit and nuance of the original text in both languages.
- Semantically and syntactically review other sections’ outgoing items of exceptionally sensitive complex nature.
- Prioritize different sections requests, keep track of all completed translations and archive them with the originals electronically and in hard copies with utmost confidentiality.
- Request Motorpool services for diplomatic correspondence delivery to the appropriate Ministries and diplomatic missions, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Protocol Office Backup:
- Manage mail and office filing system from registration, classification, screening to the routing of all incoming/outgoing correspondences to and from Front Office for easy availability and accessibility.
- Arrange meetings/appointments and courtesy calls with high-ranking governmental officials as well as accredited diplomatic missions’ representatives, based on Ambassador’s and DCM’s calendars.
- Maintain and updating Executive Contact Database, including central and diplomatic missions international organizations and projects, NGOs etc.
- Preparing and delivering invitations to the concerned institutions and ministries and RSVP.

Foreign Affairs - International Affairs
2004 - 2011

- Manage all administrative, financial and legal aspects of the agency.
- Supervise customer service and work quality of internal and external contractors, translators, editors, revisers and transcribers.
- Provide high quality translation, adaptation, edition and revision services in both English and French; teaching English and French.
- Perform managerial functions as required.
- Update and secure Oustrans website and social networks.
