I’m 58. I want to work. I can. I like. I must work.

Meet me, you’ll see it is not winter, it is Indian summer. Time to harvest. To harvest skills experienced day after day, from one sector of activity to another. (First contact www.pascalepons.com )

I am looking for a job of executive assistant to a manager. One who would appreciate to see his desk cleaned up of loads of papers and details by someone accurate, having a good judgement, able to understand formal and informal organisations, his goals, , and used – more than to transmit - to get things done by multidisciplinary teams of different cultures.

How? My basic craft, executive assistantship, has been a springboard to build up a career in advertising agencies where I learned to organise, to handle, to work out, to drive and where I developed personal characteristics such as understanding, convincing, passing on, and acting.

As you know, in advertising agencies it is like in sport, age limit is quickly reached; therefore I revived executive assistantship. Of course I was better at 45 than I was at 20, and I am better at 58.

I carried out temporary jobs as English bilingual executive assistant, most of them to presidents, which allowed me to bounce back in the area of international trade where, as initially executive assistant to the Manager of Usinor International and Economic Business and subsequently to Arcelor Manager of international law business and Arcelor vice-president in charge of international business, I handled the international trade disputes. Going, along the route, through a privatization and two mergers of what became the first worldwide steel group.

As you probably know those disputes, mainly initiated by the USA, but also by many other countries, jeopardize access to markets. Millions of euros are at stake each time. Initiated from state to state, they involve the highest levels of management, governments, lobbies, and are aimed at production sites and subsidiaries scattered all over the world.

My assignment? To free the desk of my boss of the load of papers and details which cluttered up, to prioritize tasks, to find the right contacts, to ensure the accuracy of the responses to governmental questionnaires, to meet dead lines, to motivate multidisciplinary teams of different cultures and get them to understand US and international trade laws.

It meant of course to handle data as sensitive as production capacities, development strategies, the group’s merger plan, users’ expectations, sales costs, production costs, technologies, and so on… To get our point to the government authorities leading the investigations …. And win sometimes.

I am immediately available, immediately operational.
