Thierry Le Moigne
Directeur Opérationnel France, TRANE (Ingersoll Rand)
I am born in Algiers (Algeria) in 1959. I attended school in Brest (Brittany, France) and entered the French Naval Academy in 1981.
Designated as a Science and Technical Engineer, I spent the first part of my career essentially as a Main Engine Officer and Damage Control Officer in the surface fleet. My main tours of duty were aboard FS frigates Du Chayla, Aconit, Enseigne de Vaisseau Henry; AOR Rhone; Helicopter Carrier Jeanne d’Arc and Aircraft Carrier Foch. So, hard sea life, dockyards jobs, but a lot of splendid encounters around the world.
I graduated from the French Joint Warfare College in Paris (Collège Interarmées de Défense) in 1998. After being Commandant Adjoint Navire aboard the frigate de Grasse, I was commissioned a Commander in 2000 and my career turned to logistics. During the reorganisation of French Navy logistics, I contributed to the inception of the Service de Soutien de la Flotte (Fleet Support Agency) as Logistics Director (Sourcing & Supply Chain) of the agency of Brest (2000-2003).
I was then the first ACOS (Assistant Chief of Staff) N4 (Logistics) of the new COMFRMARFOR staff (Radm Jacques Mazars) in which I contributed to the first NATO certification (without reservation for logistics !) aboard CVN Charles de Gaulle.
Appointed in 2005 to ALFAN staff (Admiral commanding the French surface ships) in Toulon as logistic authority for the Naval Chief of Staff, I had a mission as the commanding officer of the French naval detachment in Bahrain and liaison officer for USNAVCENT (F2C2) Admiral Walsh. Hard work, but a lot of friendship with the other 24 nation representatives, the American and the Pakistanese staffs.
As a Captain (i.e. 'colonel' for the landlubbers), I finished my militar career as commanding officer (CEO) of the 'Atelier Militaire de la Flotte de Toulon', military factory for the maintenance and repair of the fleet, a 500 staff Business Unit. I am Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur and Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite. In 2005 I received an MBA from the Université de Poitiers.
I am currently Service and Parts Fulfilment Leader France in TRANE (Ingersoll Rand), a leader brand in HVAC.
