The important keywords to be closer to the core business of the company are : Homogenization, consolidation and simplification, with cost containment and a business knowledge to be able to understand operational need.

Obviously, a more detailed definition would be for me the following :
- Oversee the implementation of the IS.
- Manage relationships with operational and functional managers.
- Oversee relations with suppliers, monitoring of contracts
- Be the guarantor of security.
- Manage men and women of IT who work on the previous items

Most important for a department like IT is in the thousand everyday things that bring each member to feel alive. This is the way to give an order, how to manage a reluctance, how to refocus an action, how to say no to a need, how to manage a difficulty encountered by an employee or team. This is also how to validate what is done well, the clarity of the task.
Finally, it's to know how to be strict in the quality of production and its human management while staying a partner of his teams
