Towards creating my own wildlife rehabilitation centre
I'm currently being trained as a "vet nurse" (it seems that "vet nurse" in France and in other countries is not exactly the same thing) in a small vet practice in the south of France. My aim is to manage to have a global view of the animals first aid, to make the difference between the different situations and spot the situations that have to be treated as priorities, to learn how to look after the "patients" when hospitalized and so on... I'm learning everyday!
2005 - 2007Cats Protection is the largest cat welfare charity in the UK, rehoming 60 000 cats each year.
I used to work for the North London Branch, as an adoption officer but my job was very diverse so I also used to work in partnership with a vet, medicate the cats, match the right cat with the right person, doing home visits to make sure everything would be fine...
I used to work a lot on our database and mainly in my office where adoptions took place: it was about giving advice to the future owner regarding the treatment the cat had been given if needed, the insurance, the importance of the vaccinations and neutering if not already done...
I loved this job and got an amazing reference letter from my manager when I left which encouraged me to keep on working with animals and learn again and again... til I feel ready to open my own wildlife hopsital!
