Son premier opus est délicieusement inclassable. Ni variété, ni rock, ni pop, ni funk, mais un peu tout à la fois, son répertoire est un répertoire délibérément tourné vers le mélange des genres. «C’est une idée qui ne m’a jamais fait peur. Au contraire. J’adore ça. Pareil pour la déco d’ailleurs. Et pour les gens ». Préférant les « fêlures à la beauté », Coco Schell brouille ses pistes créatives avec une stupéfiante efficacité. « Il y a une voix, du texte et de la mélodie. Ce n’est pas un style, c’est tout simplement mon style ». Et, phénomène rare donc d’autant plus précieux, un style complètement novateur.
