Damien Berget
R&D Project Leader, Sensitive Object (Human Machine interfaces)
Life is full of surprise, I could not even imagine that I would touch so many topics in a Start-Up like Sensitive Object.
In a very short amount of time, I had to switch from pure development on the algorithms to integration challenges to meet customer requirements. I also had to help the manufacturing team by setting up production benches in our partner in Taiwan or lead a software development effort between France and Vietnam.
This whole range of international challenges is exactly what I wanted to stay alert, keep on learning and use the flexibility I acquired with my Studies in Australia.
Lead algorithms team since december 2008 (4 signal processing engineers, 1 test engineer, 2 acoustic specialists), to develop new dual touch architecture to be embedded in a touch-screen controller (PIC32/33 based):
- Schedule and workload management in coordination with global project
- Hiring external consultants
- Global software architecture building with Matlab
- Day to day project management
Coordinate touch-screen platform software upgrade (PC based) adding new functionalities (9 months):
- Algorithms development, validation (leading 3 experts in acoustic and signal processing)
- New non-regression tests methodology setup
- Full software functional validation from specification, to final review for delivery
2006 - 2008Bring to production Sensitive Object touch-screen platform (SOTouch ®):
- Upgrade the touch-screen electronic controller board (layout recommendation, component choices, analog input stage tuning)
- Build up and validate the qualification bench with Matlab and 3-axis robot
- Install the bench in R&D facilities in Asia for pre-production with training of local engineering team (2 months in Taiwan)
- Define technical specifications with customers.
- Integrate touch-screen sensor in customer demonstrators
2006 - 2006Main tasks:
- Maintain MPEG2 Codec, solve freezing and increase image quality on corrupted stream
- Functional validation of a DSP RTP/RTSP library (Streaming over IP)
- Coding IP camera demonstrator for DM642 with TI DSP/BIOS Real-Time OS
