George Homs
Director, Pennea Ltd
I've been with the IT industry since 1987. After a first stint at NCR Corp, I co-found Compaq Computer's operations in Belgium. Later, I moved to Germany to create SAP's worldwide marketing function, based at the Waldorf HQ.
Later on, I set up a consultancy in Paris, focusing on business development, marketing and PR services to assist technology companies in launching or expanding their business in France and EMEA. In this role, I worked with companies such as Microsoft, Intel, Micrografx, ASK Computer, Reference Software, Computacenter... After re-joining Compaq for a few years, I moved on to take a particular interest in the systems management market, helping two start-ups (Datacenter Technologies and Jareva Technologies) to develop their business. Both companies were acquired by VERITAS Software.
At VERITAS, I initially focused on the server automation market, before moving on to a BusDev role for the broader Service Management proposition.
Since the Symantec/VERITAS merger, I have focused on developing strategies and tools around Symantec's high-level value proposition. Most recently, this role transitioned into the worldwide Global Services organisation.
My focus is on C-level engagements and developing innovative tools for high-level assessments around risk exposure, operational efficiency, ISO process mapping, Innovation Capacity...
