Programme Manager, Broadband Internet Distribution
Set-up of a distribution organisation in several European countries for the SES-ASTRA Broadband Internet over Satellite product (B2C)
• Definition and implementation of automated logistic processes (via sub-contractor management) for direct sales via web-shop
• Call Centre
• Indirect sales process via specialized retailers.
Project accomplished in two phases, the first in four months.
2000 - 2003Management of a team of 20 persons located in Germany, Paris and London. In charge of Project Management, Order to Cash management and logistics of all customers (ExxonMobil, Total, Peugeot-Citroën, British Telecom, AT&T and Tiscali, …):
• Set-up of an organisation and processes capable to roll-out +10.000 sites/year without increase of staff, compared to 1.000 sites installed in 2000.
• >7.000 VSAT sites rolled out in 2001
• Sub-contractor management for installation and maintenance services, about 100 different companies, 75% contracted under my responsibility, 10 new countries covered (France, UK, Italy, Spain, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Baltic States).
• Supply chain management, optimised by SAP
1997 - 2000Management of a team of 35 persons based in Paris and Francfort.
• Outsourcing, Roll-out and Service Management of large, multi-national customer networks (UPS, RJR, IBM, BULL, NOKIA, Esso, PSA, Rhône Poulenc, HP, …). Significant reduction of escalations from several large customers.
• Budget responsibility, Outsourcing projects run as a business
• World-wide competence centre for Program et Service Management
• Project Director (+100 persons full-time over 15 months) for the migration of all Frame-Relay and IP customers (+1200) on a new technology platform. Very high customer satisfaction (external audit).
1994 - 1996Director, Program Management.
Management of a team of 17 persons
• Outsourcing, roll-out and Service Management of large, multi-national customer networks (RJR, IBM, BULL, Dun&Bradstreet, ...)
• Budget responsibility, Outsourcing projects run as a business, increased gross-margin by 20% in some cases within one year.
• Set-up of an integrated Project database, supporting all Program Management activities in an homogenised way
• Definition of global working methods for all Programs
1981 - 1994Bid-Manager (1990-1994)
Management of large international pre-sales projects (sales cycle up to 12 months). Signed several large contracts with prime contracting services up to 20M$ and 40 man-years of services.
Programme Director (1987-1990)
Managed two large international projects (S.W.I.F.T., Norwegian Comercial Banking Association) in the domain of logical security for electronic funds transfer.
Department Manager (1984-1987): Logical Security and Payment Systems (12 persons)
Design, development and Sales of security equipment (black-box), which became the standard for the French Banks for the protection of their electronic Payment network.
Software Engineer then Project Manager (1981-1984)
Development of a banking terminal for BULL, a standard product of the computer manufacturer
