Houzefa KARIMBHAY
Reservoir Engineer, Beicip Franlab
I joined Beicip Franlab since September 2008 as a reservoir engineer. The company is a leading consultancy and software provider based in Paris area.
I was involved in integrated studies for North African Oilfields including Hassi Messaoud and the surrounding fields (sandstone formations). Since February 2011, I am working in the software division where I am in charge of client support, training and specifications on our reservoir products.
I am familiar with several softwares, working with dual and single medium and working within a multidisciplinary team. With this first experience within the Oil & Gas industry, I have acquired good analytical and communication skills. As well as the technical area, I am also interested in the business side and assets management in order to diversify my competences. Working with a consultancy made me self sufficient, project and delivery oriented.
I have a master degree in fluids mechanics from ENSEEIHT school (FRANCE) completed by a specialization with another master degree in petroleum engineering from IFP School (FRANCE), the program covered a large spectrum of disciplines as geosciences, drilling and production / surface facilities.
I participated to the history matching phase of Hassi Messaoud Oilfield (300 MMbbl/d) using Puma software.
I participated into the basic engineering phase (PVT analysis, KRPC analysis, rocktyping, Fluids In Place estimation, Material Balance) during the geological and dynamical model construction for Hassi Guettar Oilfield (South of Hassi Messaoud).
The second phase of the project consisted to make a history matching of the dynamical model in order to make future predictions with NEXUS-VIP reservoir simulator. The main objective consisted to propose development scenarios in order to increase the hydrocarbon production. The purpose was to establish the best production scenario by comparing the recovery factors and also by making a rough economical analysis to approximate the Net Present Value for the different scenarios.
5 months internship in TOTAL group (La Défense, Paris) as a reservoir engineer. My job was to make a phenomenological study of gas production through Coalbed Methane (CBM) process based in Schlumberger's Eclipse software.
Industrial training in the final assembly line of A330-A340 at Toulouse industrial area of AIRBUS
