  • Nam Theun 2 (40% EDF) - Environmental and Social (E&S) Project Executive

    2008 - maintenant Nam Theun 2 (NT2): 1st World Bank (WB) funded international public-private hydropower project in 10 years / 40% EDF / 1.5 billion USD project

    Monitoring and evaluation missions:

    • Audit of the agriculture and livestock demonstration farms of the agrarian development program
    - Interviewed stakeholders (villagers, farm managers, NT2 specialists, government officials)
    - Analyzed financial and contractual documentation and reviewed agrarian development and innovation literature
    - Formulated recommendations and presented findings to the E&S directors

    • Lessons learned on the NT2 Project with a focus on E&S (6 months consultancy for EDF)
    - Interviewed 50 ‘key persons’ from EDF, the WB, and the operation company
    - Researched and authored a 200-page report on the lessons learnt, presented to EDF

    • Gathering of ‘villagers’ success stories’ for monitoring and external communication on the E&S projects
    - Carried out 15 individual interviews with villagers, 5 focus groups
    - Wrote villagers stories in English published on the project website http://www.namtheun2.com

    • General and legal monitoring/ reporting
    - Set up performance indicators for the E&S programs in line with the logical framework
    - Integrated the performance indicators in the reporting documents for Financial Institutions
    - Liaised with the E&S teams to follow up E&S contractual obligations (database) for reporting and monitoring

    Strategy and organization missions

    • E&S division strategy and organization
    - Coordinated the creation and update of the E&S ‘logical framework’
    - Coordinated the writing of the annual strategy documents for internal organization and reporting to financial institutions

    • General organization (under the direct responsibility of the CEO)
    - Carried out an engagement survey (500 people) and created an Excel model to forecast the personnel needs
    - Coordinated the preparation of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committees (agendas, minutes)

    • Context : planning of Gaz de France activities in electricity production for 10 years and preparation of the merger between Gaz de France and Suez
