Membre depuis 2009 de l' Académie des Technologies ( http://www.academie-technologies.fr ), je suis depuis 2011, le président de la commission Moblité et Transport. Depuis 2009n je préside le pôle de compétitivité Nov@log ( www.novalog.eu )et depuis 2008, le Groupe 4 Transport de Marchandise du programme de recherche du Ministère des Transport, le PREDIT.
Olivier G. Maurel is currently Global Asset Management and Maintenance Solution Leader in IBM Travel and Transportation Industry - reporting to the VP Travel and Transportation in US. His role, as company level, is to define, build and promote the WW solution for Transportation Asset Management and Maintenance with the help of the IBM brands - with a special focus on the IBM EAM ERP Maximo.
1999 - 2005From 1999 to 2005, I was CIO at SNCF (France’s national rail) Freight Division, where I oversaw the development and operations of all IT systems.
I has served on the SNCF Fret Managing Board, where I defined and implemented the complete rebuilding of IT systems in line with a major Business Process Re-engineering (BPR). At the same time, and I became chairman of the Priority Axis IT FREIGHT at Union Internationale du Chemin de Fer (UIC) and of RailData, an European railways association (similar to Railink in US).
With his business counterparts at SNCF, I was in charge of the overhaul of the company business model and supporting IT systems. I was instrumental in the redefinition of the production plan and associated processes and led the development of supporting IT systems.
1997 - 1999Software AG - From 1997 to 1999, Olivier was responsible for the development of the Year 2000 logistics in the German software publisher Software AG (for FR, IT, North Africa, ME).
1995 - 1997From 1995 to 1997, Olivier Maurel was the CIO of the Transportation and Logistics company, SAGA. As President of its technological subsidiary, SAGA Informatique, Olivier was responsible for the modernization of information technology and maritime cargo handling of SAGA for France (Marseille) and West Africa. During this period he also supervised the processing center in Houston (USA) dedicated to the petroleum logistics (Exxon…)
1983 - 1993GSI Travel and Transportation - From 1993 to 1995 Olivier Maurel was appointed Director and Member of the Executive Committee with general management delegation of GSI Travel and Transportation. At the same time, he was CEO of a joint venture between GSI TT and SNCM (NAVITEL) and Member of the board of a joint venture between GSI & Sernam (SNCF) GSI Transport.
He had previously (1991-1993) served as Technical Director of GSI TT, responsible for the development of "transportation" solutions in Holland (for freight forwarders at the port of Rotterdam) and in Germany (TMS for Road Transportation). In the field of tourism, he oversaw the implementation of distribution solutions for airlines, GDS (Korean Airlines, TAP, Iberia, Esterel/Amadeus), for car rental companies (Hertz, Avis, Europcar) and for the airlines settlement (IATA).
GSI Group - From 1983 to 1990, he held various positions as project manager, program manager, co-founder of an IT service subsidiary and finally as director of an entity within the GSI group.
