I’m currently working at MAERSK Ivory Coast which is a representation of The A.P. Moller - Maersk Group as Export Care Agent.It was established in February 1986. Our head office is located in Abidjan and we have a branch located in San Pedro. Our involvement in the containerised shipping industry in Côte d'Ivoire currently encompass almost 400 vessel calls per year and more than 1 million tons of cargo. We are amongst the largest shipping companies in Côte d'Ivoire and ready to serve you worldwide.
As a point of contact for the customer and documentation processing staff while ensuring operational excellence, high productivity,customer satisfaction.I’m reporting to Export Customer Service Manager who in return report to the Customer Service Manager.
My specific tasks consist of:
- Receive and validate customer order / Take booking requests and export customer service calls throughout the day.
- Issue shipment handling instructions to Document Processing staff
- Reserve House Airway Bill (HAWB) number and file number
- File tariff rate if applicable/ Make sure we have current buying/selling rates set up for every export shipment we handle before making necessary bookings.
- Arrange for pick-up/transfer of cargo
- Answer all customer inquires in accordance with the Customer Service Policy standards
- Further increase customer satisfaction and business share through proactive and regular contact. Establish customer communication preference, i.e., phone, e-mail, fax, visit
- Handle and manage all customer contact at file level regarding exceptions
- Serve as a liaison between the document processing agent and the customer regarding all shipment details
- Provide accurate job costing forecast
- Assist Sales in compiling quotes by providing rates, tariffs, etc.
- Work with Sales on account implementation while ensuring a smooth transition from Sales to Operations
Communicate effectively with carriers and overseas agents and external customers via phone and email.
