En résumé

During my Ph.D. degree, I develop a solid background in heat transfers phenomenons involved in the coke/deposit formation in industrial process pipes of a refinery furnace.

With a collaboration with TOTAL group, a strategy has been deployed to understand coke formation.

Different in-house CERFACS codes were used and enhanced to take advantage of the specificity of this problem. Efforts have been made on the resolution of radiative field when a simple correlation is used for convection. A coupling between irradiated surface and pipes subjected to coke deposit have and heat transfer through the pipe, has been built to couple them efficiently in huge parallel architecture (up to 4000 CPUs for the real/complex configuration).

  • boostHEAT - PhD and Fluid Mechanics Engineer

Vénissieux 2015 - maintenant boostHEAT has developed a new generation of efficient and renewable heating, hot water and cooling systems, fueled by natural gas and renewable energy.

The Heat Pump Boiler is the FUSION of the boiler and the heat pump, into ONE efficient and renewable heating system, thanks to our patented thermal compression

Such a system requires a detailed knowledge about all of these thermodynamic cycles. Heat pump boiler performance is directly linked to fluid flows control. In this sense, the simulation tools help to improve performance, together with tests carried out on site.

    Doing this result on :
    • Consuming half the energy of the most efficient (condensing) boiler
    • Using a natural, non-toxic refrigerant, carbon dioxide, instead of the commonly-used refrigerants that are 2,000+ times more potent greenhouse gases
    • The boostHEAT natural gas fueled thermal compression device activates the heat pump, an air-water heat pump using a carbon dioxide cycle.

  • CERFACS - Docteur

PARIS 2008 - 2012 Modelisation of the coupling between combustion and fouling inside furnace pipes

Fouling is a long-standing problem in the processing of crude oil and leads to a higher consumption of energy and a raising of maintenance costs, with an efficiency loss of the system. The performance of these heat exchangers decreases continuously with time due to fouling, which is defined as the formation of deposits. The cleaning of the equipment becomes necessary to restore the performance when the thermal effectiveness reaches a minimum acceptable level.
