  • United Nations World Food Programme (Nepal) - Project Manager

    maintenant As a member of the Food Security Monitoring and Analysis Unit (FSMAU/VAM), managed a pilot project aiming at the development and testing of an innovative food security monitoring approach based on the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification tool (IPC). As a result, the project setup three District-Based Food Security Networks and developed their capacities so that they may
    autonomously monitor the local food security situation. The project targeted the isolated mountain districts of Taplejung, Panchtar and Sankhuwasabha (Far-eastern region). The resulting methodology is being considered for a roll-out at the national level (75 districts).

    • Recruited the project's team (redacted TORs, conducted interviews, finalized conditions)
    • Designed implementation strategy (workplan, milestones, timeline)
    Ensured sound financial management of the project (budget follow-up, reporting)
    • Met with key potential actors for the project and generated awareness and interest with regards to project's objectives
    • Organized and facilitated consultation workshops in each of the three districts
    • Developed the District based food security monitoring methodology and associated tools based on the IPC
    • Field tested the methodology in three districts
    • Developed two training modules (based on the IPC) and published a handbook and a trainer's guide
    • Participated in the delivery of the capacity building curriculum
    • Documented lessons learnt during the implementation of the project and shared them with the Government of Nepal for replication
