En 1994, SHRI MAHESH GHATRADYAL a créé l’association FRANCE INDE-KARNATAKA (FIK) (loi 1901) qui a pour vocation de construire puis développer un hôpital rural en Inde, dans le village défavorisé d’Halligudi dans l’Etat du Karnataka dont il est originaire.
L’accès aux soins étant une priorité dans cette région défavorisée. Voilà quinze ans que l’association FIK et l’hôpital répondent aux besoins médicaux et sanitaires tout en soutenant la population paysanne.
Les premières priorités ont été d’amener l’eau et l’électricité dans l’hôpital et au village, ce qui a été fait il y a plusieurs années. Depuis, d’autres projets ont vu le jour (construction d’une cantine, d’un temple, achat d’une ambulance, renforcement de l’équipe médicale…). 1500 à 2400 patients sont auscultés chaque mois.
En 2007, Sushila Ghatradyal devient présidente de l'association humanitaire suite à la disparition de son père Shri Mahesh .

In 1994, SHRI MAHESH GHATRADYAL founded the non-profit organiza-tion FRANCE INDIA KARNATAKA (FIK) (under the 1901 Act) with the mission to build the first local rural hospital in Halligudi, an underprivileg-ed village in the state of Karnataka (south India) where he originally came from. The free access to health care is a priority matter in this disad-vantaged area.
Since 15 years FIK and the hospital are supporting the medical and health care needs of the rural population. The first priorities were to establish an access to drinking water and electricity. This has been done many years ago. Other projects have been realized, like the construction of a canteen
and a temple, the purchase of an ambulance and the increasing of the medical team were implemented. Each month between 1 700 and 2 400 patients are treated for free.
