AURORA

En résumé

The main purpose of my research focuses on understanding conscious and unconscious motivational process involved in health behaviors initiation and maintenance. My work is based on contemporary socio-cognitive models (e.g., Self-Determination Theory, SDT ; Deci & Ryan, 2000, 2008) and motivational dualistic perspectives (e.g., Reflective-Impulsive Model, RIM ; Strack & Deutsch, 2004) integration. This theoretical integration aims to improve the effectiveness of health messages by providing a conceptual framework for understanding how persuasive communication strategies (Rothman & Salovey, 1997) can influence both the implicit and explicit behavioral determinants. Unconscious semantic priming procedures (Gaillard, Del Cul, Naccache, Vinckier, Cohen & Dehaene, 2006) and experimental designs based on the measurement of reaction time (Krieglmeyer & Deutsch, 2010) will be used.
