  • Lafarge Ciments - Responsable Fabrication

    Paris 2009 - 2013 Reported to the Plant Operations Manager

    Managed a team of 15 people (mainly shifts operators, in a continuous process activity)

    • Implemented safety policy through special and regular department discussions, audits and trainings. Followed-up safety in day-to-day activities: for instance include safety into the operational procedures, Stop method implementation.

    • Followed-up the subcontracts related to the plant’s activities: Refractories (Concrete and bricks that are protecting the metallic structure or equipment from the heat) and Cleaning Maintenance (Specifics cleaning such as height or on dangerous conditions) from preparations of the Instructions to Tender to the Close-out of the subcontracts: Planning, Cost Control, Technical supervision, coordination with others department during the plant’s yearly shutdown.

    • Handled the budget of the Cement production department (500k €).

    • Led the plant’s performance management system thanks to the Total Productive Maintenance method (TPM) by improving machine availability through better utilization maintenance and production resources.
    This second responsibility in my position was more relevant that operators were under my responsibility and then be enable to understand the machinery, identify the problem and be actor of the proposed solution. They had as well to assure the first level of maintenance, underlining how their expertise could be crucial for the future impact on the production. Mixing technical and operational skills is always a key issue of problem solving.
  • Lafarge Ciments - Ingénieur procédés

    Paris 2007 - 2009
    Reported to Optimization Manager (Process + Quality + Environment + IT)
    Managed a team of 2 technicians

    • Optimized the manufacturing process, dealing with quality, environment & cost aspects of the plant (80 workers)

    • Organized of the Safety day at the plant.

    • Set up of an annual planning of process activities based on Lafarge Technical Center’s inputs, the plant’s resources and its black spots.

    • Created and followed-up a local paper to communicate on a monthly basis focusing on the successes of the plant: Performance results/Safety Results/TPM achievements.

    • Liaised with the Process department and IT people in taking the automation on my behalf and improved the collaboration between IT and the production

    • Led the plant’s TPM activity:
    Assuring the coherence of the performance analysis at all level in the hierarchy and at all stage: daily / weekly / monthly ...
    Assist and guide in consistency with the plant priorities, the analysis groups (participant should be a mixing of experts and operators, reporting, objectives and results, costs...)
  • Lafarge Ciments - Animatrice sécurité

    Paris 2005 - 2007 Project : Construction of a grinding station in the Port of Bordeaux (France), 18 months duration, 20 million €, 20,000 working hours, 1st experience for Lafarge with Chinese workers on a construction site in France (French regulation regarding health and safety).

    Reported to the Project Manager

    • Assisted the construction manager in all the activities related to safety.

    • Supervised 50 workers from a Chinese subcontractor to ensure they work in accordance with Lafarge safety standards and French regulation.

    • Controlled basics of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical works on behalf of the construction manager.

    • Coordinated with the Technical Center on subjects such as Planning, organised site visits with Chinese counterparts and stakeholders.
