    After two years of working exclusively on offline catalogs, for the past year my challenge has been to manage the product strategy on a multichannel basis in order to reinforce our online positioning. As team manager, I am responsible for collection pricing and multichannel merchandising. My job is to place the right product in the right location at the right price/offer for the right customer.

    Scope

    - Price Control & Buying Budget Management
    o Propose pricing policies based on market benchmarks as well as financial KPIs (e.g. currency evolution, discount budget management, VAT evolution, etc.)
    o Control profitability on various levels (e.g. product, boutiques, market, target, brand, etc.).
    o Adapt the annual global budget (80M€) to purchase forecasts based on historical data and seasonal objectives.

    - Product Merchandising Policy
    o French team contact for collection design sales and promotion strategy.
    o Develop and launch integrated, multichannel & multitarget print, catalog, web and direct marketing campaigns.
    o Conceptualize and orchestrate local product campaigns that effectively reinforce and build brand image.
    o Perform ongoing strategy evaluation and market research to identify and capitalize on unmet market needs ahead of the curve.
    o Manage website product display strategy (e.g. internal search and ranking policy, etc.) and oversee technical improvements.

    - Team Management
    o Oversight of and responsibility for a 3-member merchandising team.
    o Annual assessment of qualitative and quantitative team member performance.
    o Regular follow-up of the achievements.
    o Training.
    o Personal development meetings.

    Achievements

    - Enhanced the web portal to include multichannel communication and a change of emphasis from production to product placement orientation.
    - Assisted in the development of a commercial plan that highlights product-driven communication.
    - Expanded the number of catalogs and animations to reflect seasonal needs and to meet specific targets.
  • LA REDOUTE – Redcats France, Roubaix - Product Manager Assistant

    Roubaix 2005 - 2006 Job Purpose

    As part of a one year internship, I assisted the product manager in all aspects of collection creation for two women’s boutiques. Initially, I worked with over thirty external national brands to build the Junior Brands collection (e.g. Levi’s, Pepe Jeans, Adidas, Converse, Roxy, etc.). Following this, I worked on the Redoute brand Tipster.

    Scope

    - Creating a collection plan
    o Defined/redefined the brand positioning and strategy subject to Board approval.
    o Devised a collection plan at a specific product category level based on market needs.
    o Collaborated with stylists in collection design.
    o Assisted the product manager in budgeting matters (e.g. purchase prices, sales forecasts, etc.).

    - Coordinate the product development with internal departments
    o Briefed the communication department.
    o Prepared the product files for buyers & suppliers and track the samples until final production approval.
    o Oversaw pattern creation with model makers and models.
    o Forwarded the initial orders to logistics managers and tracking for restocking.
    o Ensured quality with regular pickings and back order rate follow-up
    - External brands management
    o Visited brands to evaluate their collection and seasonal strategy.
    o Listed products within a brand collection.
    o Placed orders, briefed the communication department, and guaranteed the measurements reliability compared to internal size guide.
    o Finalized all aspects of external brands’ legal contracts.
