En résumé

Après une expérience de trois ans en audit externe chez Ernst & Young, j'ai intégré en novembre 2003, la direction de l'audit interne du groupe Lagardère.

Passionné des médias en général, et du cinéma et de l'audiovisuel en particulier, j'ai été amené à intervenir sur des entités du groupe, principalement des sociétés de production (stock et flux), des éditeurs (radio, télévision) ou des régies publicitaires.
Mias, et c'est l'intérêt de la fonction, je me suis aussi penché sur la restructuration de la fonction RH d'une radio en Pologne ou sur la réorganisation d'une chaîne logistique de distribution des journaux en Espagne.

Dopé par l'envie d'aller plus loin, et notamment de ne pas s'arrêter à l'aspect strictement financier des sociétés, je m'apprête à suivre une formation en parallèle à Paris I au sein du DESS de Communication Audiovisuelle de M. Sirinelli qui propose une formation en deux ans pour les jeunes salariés déjà actifs dans le milieu des médias.

  • Hachette Filipacchi Media US - Vice President - Business & Corporate Development

    2007 - 2009 Hachette Filipacchi Media US (HFMUS) is the leading worldwide magazine publisher, part of Lagardère Active, with annual revenues around +$3bn. It holds more than 7 magazines and 10 websites, including Elle, Car and Driver, Road and Track, Woman's Day, Elle Decor and Metropolitan Home and 40m readers in the US.

    - Selects and implements the best strategic directions to reach the financial objectives assigned to the Digital group, in close coordination with Hachette's Senior Vice President of Digital and Hachette's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer;

    - Supervises all aspects of business development for Hachette Digital Group, including partnerships with portals, mid and long tail publishers and social networks, with the goal of driving additional audiences towards Hachette’s websites and develop new business models. Contributed to the largest increase of Hachette’s websites audience to date - multiplied by ten to reach an average of 10 millions unique visitors in 2009;

    - Manage the development of new revenues streams for the Digital Group to diversify our sources from pure advertising and expand in affiliate revenues, ecommerce revenues and micropayment as well as innovate with new “non-branded” properties (not connected to an offline brand);

    - Oversees mergers and acquisitions, including acquisition sourcing, acquisition strategy, due diligences, valuation and financial evaluations of contemplated targets; negotiations with the bankers, lawyers and sellers. Managed the first major Hachette acquisition in the US of Jumpstart Automotive, an online ad network specialized on the Automotive space, bought for $84 million (April 2007).
  • Lagardere - Principal

    PARIS 2003 - 2006 One of the world’s leading media groups with four distinct, complementary business lines: book publishing (#2 worldwide), distribution of cultural products (#4 worldwide), print and audiovisual media (#6 worldwide), and management and marketing of sporting rights (#2 worldwide). Publicly listed in Paris with 2008 revenues in excess of $12bn

    - In charge of corporate mergers and acquisitions at the Lagardère level:
    * Advised Lagardère major business units at the management level on their acquisition strategies and prospects;
    * Supervised acquisitions processes: liaison with bankers and lawyers, drafting of financial due diligences, valuation and business plans reviews of contemplated targets.

    - Oversaw internal reviews of large Lagardère subsidiaries in several countries: review of internal processes; formulation of recommendations to improve business and financial policies; advise local teams as they implement changes.

    - Recruited and trained of a team of 3 directors-level and junior staff.
  • Ernst & Young Audit - Senior Auditor

    Courbevoie 2000 - 2003 - In charge of conducing financial and statutory audit reviews for major industrial groups such as Renault-Nissan (largest European car manufacturer), Airbus (#2 worldwide plane manufacturers) and Total (#3 worldwide oil company).

    - Managed teams of up to 20 people involved on various and complex assignments that were usually taking place in different geographical areas.
