  • Adobe Systems, Inc. - Senior Strategic Alliances Manager

    Paris cedex 16 2007 - 2012 Focused on media companies, agencies and telecom operators, around Digital Media Publishing Technologies & Digital Entertainment Services (WebTV, Enterprise TV, hybrid TV: broadcast & broadband services). Drive massive adoption of Adobe Internet technologies (internet video distribution, digital marketing, digital publishing) which eventually becomes a key part of the partners' core activities / services, consumed on all kinds of devices.

    Clarify how media companies can reach their audience wherever they are (Anytime Anywhere, Any Device), with a appropriate quality of service and excellent user experience on Desktop, Tablet and Mobile.

    In the frame of this role, address the multiple aspects of digital content ideation, creation, production as well as protection, distribution, monetization and usage measurement and optimization across multiple delivery networks (Broadcast/Broadband), to increase media companies business and revenues.

    The position created with my arrival, is based in Europe (Paris), reporting to Adobe‘s Corporate Development in California, and permanently interfacing with experts and contributors across USA, Europe and Asia. Manage all aspects of Adobe‘s Strategic Alliances with key partners and clients in Europe (BBC, Bertelsmann, Publicis Groupe).
  • NDS Technologies France (Newscorp media group) - VP Software Marketing

    2005 - 2007 NDS-Newscorp (now a CISCO company), was the technology division of Newscorp, the 4th largest media company in the world. NDS had 2 jobs: enabling Digital PayTV services (via set-top boxes embedded middleware software) and protecting digital content (with conditional access & digital rights management - DRM).

    Manage NDS' software Marketing & Strategy for the development of embedded software (MediaHighway), for digital TV decoders and consumer electronic devices, to deliver Digital TV experiences.

    My team is also responsible for the design of user experiences (including human interfaces, decoders, remote control, digital recording, TV services navigation and services discovery experience).

    Main customers, are digital television operators (DirecTV, BSkyB, Astro, CANAL+ & PREMIERE…) providing Digital TV user experience, to consumers of entertainment services, across devices.
  • Gemplus (Gemalto) - VP Strategy - Telecom Business Unit

    2003 - 2005 Create a "relationship management platform", enabling ubiquitous delivery of Internet services, to corporate (B2B) and consumer (B2C) customers, based on the use of the "SIMfrastructure" (shared SIM card in mobile devices) to manage identity, privacy and services provisioning, together with key industry partners.

    European Union DG XIII research project director - T2R (Trusted Transaction Roaming) IST-2001-38682 - A Trusted Platform for Wireless Data Services - Include Gemalto (Gemplus), Vodafone, Orange, Sonera, Globalsign and Radicchio. Define the eco-system, contributors role, technical platform and business models, enabling Internet/mobile payments, online commerce and services delivery, in liaison with EMV (Europay, Mastercard, Visa), SSO solution providers and devices manufacturers (Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola).

    Build the business plan for the telecom business (Europe, SE-Asia, Japan-Korea, Greater-China, Americas). Manage the telecom strategy team. Build C-level relationship with Nokia, and extend the ones with Orange & Vodafone. coordinate standardization efforts (OMA, ETSI, Liberty Alliance...), and rationalize the patent portfolio.
  • Gemplus (Gemalto) - Director, Strategic Program, Telecom Business Unit

    1999 - 2002 Create, study and promote disruptive business models, for the role of SIM card in the mobile eco-system. Identify and recruit business complementors, to enrich the value of the smart card platform in mobile.

    Successfully bootstrap and manage activities & contracts, with key players (Symbian, Palm, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Nokia, Motorola, and Alcatel). Submit with success the T2R project to the European Commission (partnering with Orange & Vodafone R&D): 600K Euros for 1.5 year project I am managing.

    Conduct a new markets study with AT Kearney San Francisco. Secure GemVentures (Gemplus' corporate ventures fund) capital investments (Netsize 1m€->110m€, Atchik-Realtime 6->18 Carriers...).

    Drive lobby activities among the Radicchio consortium and the Liberty Alliance Forum.
