    1969 - 2000 Worked as a Researcher in the French National Scientific Organisation (CNRS).

    Member of the 18th French Polar Expedition (1967 to 1969) at Dumont d’Urville base, in Antarctica). Head of the Seismology Laboratory and correspondent of the International Tsunami Watch net.

    Appointed as Exploration Geophysicist by Aquitaine Oil Company since 1969.
    Expatriated in South Africa, Namibia, Sabah, Libya, Tunisia, and Brunei. That oil & gas Company merged in 1976 with Elf Oil and Gas.

    Area Exploration Mgr for Europe and Far-East Asia (1983 to 1989) new ventures: China, Korea, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Tanzania …
    Nominated new ventures expert (1989 to 1995).
    Many short term missions to a majority of countries around the World.

    As a hobby, travelled months long across every continent.

    Representative of Elf Aquitaine Exploration and Production’s executives (1995 to 1999):
    Chairman of the Economic Commission. and many other positions with respect to the executives’ representation.

    Manager of the social benefits of the Company (1997-2000), exceptional assistance and all the staff’s holiday estates (particularly seven “villages”),


    A merger between Elf Aquitaine and Total Fina Groups occurred in 2000, leading to early retirement schemes. Negotiated the conditions offered to the staff. Accepted for himself those conditions as well as 97 % of the staff concerned.


    Elected in 2002 to settle part time (more than half the year, every year) in Sabah, under the Malaysia my Second Home Programme.
    He founded the Waikiki Owners’ Association in 2005.and is its Chairman.

    Fully retired since 2006.
    Lecturer at UMS, The Sabah Society and The Malaysian Nature Society.
    Member of Kinabalu Golf Club.
