I am passionate about value creation and development. My purpose is to lead and work with multidisciplinary teams to solve problems and deliver. Process is guided through facilitated workshops, coaching, mentoring. I bring a large selection of business change and implementation methodologies which I have learnt, practiced and tailored over my 18 years professional experience.

I have worked in a wide range of roles (innovation lead, process programme manager, process validation engineer, Bank of England liaison, product and process improvement engineer, manufacturing engineer, development chemist and project leader), industries (paper making, fuel cells, adhesives and coatings and construction) and in different countries (England, New Zealand and Spain). My travels and international professional contacts have also enriched me with a broad cultural understanding.

  • Portals De La Rue, UK - Innovation Lead

    2018 - maintenant Responsible for establishing and managing the innovation team. I set up the team of 4 from nothing, projects pipeline, governance. Responsible for Intellectual Property (IP) and trademarks for Portals. Portfolio of 27 patents and 6 trademarks. Won 1st prize for annual recognition award for Leadership and vision out of 87 managers. Responsible for leading value management studies with multidisciplinary teams as well as leading major complex problem solving.

  • De La Rue - Process Programme Manager

    2016 - 2018 De La Rue is the world's largest integrated commercial banknote printer.

    Co-responsible for the design and governance of a £10m transformational programme over 3 years with transformation leader. Responsible for the design and governance of a £616k agile programme over 2 years. Teams up to 16 people and 13 projects. Responsible for leading targeted value management studies covering organisation and business process change, capital project & strategy development categories.

  • De La Rue - Process Validation Lead Engineer (Additional role)

    2014 - 2016 Responsible for leading the verification & validation of large CAPEX £3m+ (Contract to production handover). I created the process from nothing, lead a validation engineer and cross-functional teams.
    • Six sigmas, overseas and UK trials, agile methodology, facilitated workshops, Quality Function Deployment, TRIZ, DfSS, Agile project management, MSP®, M_o_R®, MoV®.
  • De La Rue - Bank Of England Liaison (Additional role)

    2012 - 2014 After only 10 months in the PPI role, I took additional responsibilities as the business nominated point of contact for all new designs, process improvement, complaints and communication for the Bank of England. Responsible for validating an overseas Bank Contingency manufacturing Plan, setting paper visual standard and supporting group with design of experiment and process data analysis to support a 10-year improvement plan.

  • De La Rue - Process & Product Improvement (PPI) Engineer

    2011 - 2016 Responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to finalise new technology introduction project worth £1.3M. Assured process function (validation, trials and process improvement initiatives) and acceptance by all stakeholders. Taken above additional roles and responsibilities.
    • Six sigmas, Measurement System Analysis, refractometry.
  • Johnson Matthey - Manufacturing Engineer

    Tremblay-en-France 2006 - 2011 Johnson Matthey is a world leader in catalysts and catalysed components for fuel cells.

    Responsible for the daily performance, development/evaluation and validation of products, processes and technologies (Ink making, printing and drying lines). Technologies including inline mixers, ball mills, spraying, slot die, bar coating, rotary, airless, IR driers and vacuum furnaces.

  • Sika France - Development Chemist

    Paris Cedex 13 2004 - 2006 Fosroc is a world leader in the delivery of tailored constructive solutions for virtually any type of construction project.

    Responsible for the development of processes and products (Powder, grouts to self-levelling products) and managing the technical service department including the support to the sales team and contractors.

  • JR Courtnay, ICO Polymers, NZ - Temporary position

    2004 - 2004 JR Courtnay is a supplier of high-performance plastic compounds and resins.

  • National Starch and Chemicals, UK - Development Chemist

    2002 - 2003 National Starch and Chemicals is a multi-national manufacturer of industrial starches, adhesives, polymers, electronic and engineering materials and specialty food products.

    Responsible for the research and development of new innovative product and process improvement (New hot melt breathable adhesives for skin). I co-worked with Procter & Gamble at various sites and supported 1 production factory in France.
    • Team work, chemometrics techniques, physical characterisation of materials (Rheology, tensile), pilot coaters experimentations, customer facing interface, and road shows.
  • Cape Calsil Systems Ltd, UK - Technologist to Project Leader (June 2001)

    2000 - 2002 Cape Calsil Systems Limited is a manufacturer of fire insulated products for the construction industry.

    Responsible for the development, scale up and technology transfer of new products and technologies. (Silica gels, slurries to fire boards). I was supporting 3 factories in the UK.
    • Multidisciplinary team work, experimental designs, physical characterisation of materials (Tensile, calorimetry, Particle Size Analysis, pilot plant).
  • Instituto Nacional Del Carbon, CSIC, SP - Research internship

    1999 - 1999 INCAR is Spain national institute dedicated to the studies of carbon.

    Research into activation of carbons from olive stones using CO2.
