    * Worked on the Satellite Data Link System (SDLS) project. This was an ESA (European Space Agency) project developed by European consortium led by Alcatel Space Industries. The objective of this project was to prove the viability to provide satellite communications services of voice and data for security critical applications such as traffic management, position reporting etc. in aeronautical environment. The project was based on advance satellite communications technologies in order to maximise the instantaneous number of aircrafts without degradation in the Quality of Services proposed by the future SDLS system. A prototype, called SDLS demonstrator of this project was developed under the leadership of ASPI, Toulouse, France.
    * Worked on the channel coding, digital modulation and channel models aspects of satellite communication systems. Modeled and simulated serial (RS & Convolutional) and parallel (Turbo Codes) concatenated codes to be used in the SDLS and are defined in CCSDS standards. The performance was tested over complete chain of transmission using different modulation schemes and various channel models such as Gaussian, Rayleigh and Rician channels with and without Interleaver.
    * Worked on coding and modulation schemes in order to get good spectral efficiency as well as coding gain. For that, Trellis Coded Modulation (TCM) scheme over serial concatenated codes was proposed.
    * Different types of CDMA codes such as PN sequences, Gold, Kasami and Hadamard codes were studied in CDMA synchronous and asynchronous systems. Multi-user detection techniques were studied in asynchronous environment.
    * Configured and tested the SDLS demonstrator and the various services proposed by it, at IF level in absence of the satellite.
    * Preparation for testing of the Demonstrator with satellite ARTEMIS. It consists of generating the ephemeris data using STK, modification in SA BUS protocol and writing C code to control the movement of base station antenna automatically.
