In 2002 Nicolas became Founder of Federal Huma; consulting firm specialized in providing tools to reduce the environmental footprint. He started to initiate the HETZ program (based on the trade of cashew nuts in Guinea –Bissau). Nicolas did foresee the potential of "sustainable development ». Over the years, Nicolas gained expertise in project management related to innovative solutions for sustainability. Additionnally to his sound know-how in partnering, benefits from a great network of engineers and academic researcher in sciences.
