En résumé

Après un parcours dédié à la recherche académique puis appliquée, je deviens co-fondateur d'Intexys Photonics sur une base technologique transférée du CEA-LETI.

Après une phase de transfert, de développement produit et d'industrialisation Intexys devient fournisseur unique de TYCO Electronics pour l'équipement des dernières génération de supercomputers d'IBM.

Sur les bases de cette expérience, je fonde aujourd'hui CODEX Initiative société d'analyse et de conseil sur l'évaluation et le management du risque en innovation.

    2003 - 2009 June 2006- Feb.2009:

    Invention of the Optical Engine : application to the Active Optical Cable for Infiniband application
    • Introduction of the proprietary full flip chip concept in a new product concept for supercomputing
    o Development of a full product range for Infiniband application
    2 formats : CX4 et QSFP
    Bandwidths: 20 et 40Gb/s bidirectionnal

    • Hiring and management of a high level multi-skilled team: mechanics, optics, material science, firmware, électronics, microwaves.

    • Customer interface: the products have been developed with a permanent customer feedback , the products are deployed in high end computers.
    Invention of the miniature Pluggable Optical Device (POD) :
    The full flip chip concept is applied in a mid-board pluggable version. The developed product is the smallest and lowest power consumption of the industry.
    The pilot customers have been: NEC, Hitachi and the Southeast University of Xanjin.

    Initiation of a Multi Source Agreement with JDSU: Mini-SNAP

    Live demo of the first QSFP 4x10Gb/s for ECOC 2008 : first worldwide.


    Nov. 2003 – June 2006: Intexys, Seed funding of 1.2 M€

    • Recruting and management of an R&D team of 5 people.
    • Customer visit and support
    • Redaction of technical proposal.
    • NRE based programs management (50 to 150k€ budgets)

    Technical success
    • Invention of the Surface Mount Optical Device concept and Demo of a free space receiver at 4Gb/s. The receiver is used in Lightfleet’s Optobox for fast switching in supercomputing application.
    • Demo of an HDMI and DVI optical link
    • Demo of an optical transmission integrated in cell phone (Hirose, Japan)
     Demo of an optical video transmission in a laptop (TYCO electronics)
     Parallel Optical link at 160Gb/s : NTT Japan.
     Duplexer for Avionics appllication

    Joint development agreement with IBM in Zürich for intra-board optical interconnects:: live demo at Electronika 2006.
