My combined experience as a research scientist and technology entrepreneur is a result of my
work on innovative projects and putting them on the market.

As a scientist, I worked on Automatic Geographical Map Vectorization, 2D/3D Facial Recognition technology, Video Analytics and Summarization, Video Personalization and Machine Translation.

As an entrepreneur, I have created several companies to market these technologies, with a strong emphasis on being technology focused and relevant for solving market problems.

I am a hard-core programmer with specializations in Computer Vision and Machine Learning and I love to decipher what is hidden in very large datasets. I really enjoy these disciplines as they provide immense innovation capabilities that solve real-world problems.

    2011 - maintenant While thinking about my next big project, I worked as technology consultant in artificial intelligence and gaming for an educational company, I went 2 months in France to conduct a market research and I crossed West Malaysia in a bicycle trip.

  • National University of Singapore - Senior Research Fellow

    2009 - 2010 Scientist in Multimedia indexing, search and retrieval. I created a newscast video annotation engine based on computer vision and video analysis techniques. I also created a query engine to search through the annotated videos.I was also tasked of expanding the R&D team and crafting the technology road map with the Professor in charge.

  • Skydoor pte ltd - CEO/Founder

    2008 - 2011 Skydoor Pte Ltd is a technology company in interactive digital media that has created a patent-pending online video production and personalization engine based on a video recording in 3D virtual worlds. This engine has been created with Skydoor's advanced image processing, computer vision and computer graphics tools.

  • Tagit Pte Ltd - Co-founder

    2005 - 2005 Tagit is a successful mobile payment company. I worked with the 2 founders to create the new company and helped them to raise seed capital. I never had any active role in the company.

  • XID Technologies Pte Ltd - CTO/CEO

    2003 - 2008 Founder, CTO of XID technologies, a face recognition company based on face synthesis technology that I invented/patented.

  • Agency for Science Technology and Research - Member of Research Staff

    1997 - 2003 Scientist for ASTAR Singapore and the Real World Computing Partnership of Japan, Tsukuba. I created a face recognition technology based on face synthesis.

    1994 - 1997 PhD, Industrial Physics, Computer vision, Pattern Recognition, Artificial Intelligence, Summa Cum Laude (Felicitations du Jury).

    Automatic Geographical Map Reading System to Convert Paper-Maps that are scanned into vector forms. (roads, rivers, texts, cities, etc...). I had to use graph theory, optimization techniques in high dimensional spaces, neural networks, rule-based systems and a image processing and pattern matching.
