    Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals 2005 to present day

    Mallinckrodt is a US listed global specialty biopharmaceutical and medical imaging business that develops, manufactures, markets and distributes specialty pharmaceutical products and medical imaging agents and has an annual turnover of USD 2.5billion. Its Specialty Pharmaceuticals segment specialises in API’s and excipients (Paracetamol, Controlled Substances, Stearates & Peptides) for the Pharmaceutical Industry.

    International Sales Manager

    Working for the Specialty Pharmaceuticals segment, I am responsible for the management of an international portfolio with an annual turnover of USD 50million, consisting of direct sale customers and CMO’s, sales agents and distributors across France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Middle East, Africa and South Asia. I am also the Key Account Manager for two significant customer accounts.

    Achievements:

    • I have increased the turnover in my territory by 50%, with 30% of this being as a result of new business that I have generated and the rest coming mainly from the development of my two key accounts under long-term commercial contracts.
    • Net margin has increased by 15%, due to various cost saving initiatives that I have implemented including reducing the number of agents in my territories, streamlining the distribution network and maximising freight and packaging costs.
    • I have worked internally to develop and improve the sales forecasting tools and also with my customers, distributors and agents to obtain accurate 12 monthly rolling demand forecasts and this added value to the supply chain helping to manage inventory and better meet customer needs.
    • Using my previous marketing experience I have been able to develop new business by taking into account all elements of the market, such as competition, environment, product mix, etc. One example of this is India, where I have increased the turnover by $3million in the last two years.
    • I have constantly worked to gain an understanding of other aspects of the business, such as quality and technical support, to be able to provide a higher level of service to my customers.
    • I was awarded International Sales Manager of the Year in 2008 and 2012.
  • Nufarm Ltd - Global Business Manager - Marketing Manager

    1988 - 2005 A subsidiary of Nufarm Ltd Australia, Nufarm SAS was involved in the manufacture and marketing of Chemical Specialities for industrial use, its markets being crop protection, cosmetics, concrete & plaster, pigments, PVC and rubber.

    Global Business Manager 1999 to 2005

    Responsible for the sales of Surfactants, I managed an international customer portfolio covering Europe (France, Benelux, Germany, UK, Spain), Australasia and Americas with an annual turnover of USD 25million, and had responsibility for four members of staff within marketing, sales and laboratory.

    Achievements

    • I was responsible for the definition of the pricing policy, follow-up of technical developments, negotiation of distribution contracts, training and management of agents and definition of R&D action plans.

    Marketing Manager 1989 to 1999

    My main role was to determine the international legislation and regulatory requirements within the Performance Chemicals Division, acting as representative and leader of working groups in professional associations, and implementing internal action plans at Nufarm Ltd to ensure regulatory compliance.
    I also carried out strategic marketing by benchmarking of all business units, acted as Project Manager for new markets, and carried out analysis of the activity within Nufarm Ltd in Australia & New Zealand to evaluate any synergies and business opportunities.
