Boulogne-Billancourt 2008 - 2013 * Planned, cost price and accountable for delivering multi-million euro commercial projects within a matrix organisation through coordinated & detailed programs for both medical devices & drug delivery systems developed/licensed-in as well as associated novel bespoke processing equipment. (c up to EUR 15M).
    * Provided technical direction, leadership and line management to a team of up to 10 multi-disciplines engineers & scientists and lead product innovation from design, prototyping to scale-up production.
    * Participated and supported many Corporate strategic initiatives creating values through lean organisation definition, product portfolio reviews and focusing on core activities at local levels.
    Achievement:
    - Built an organisation enabling developing a Pharmaceutical device platform for clinical assessment of New Drugs & product life cycle management (early & late stage development) based on an outsourcing model.
    - Successfully developed and registered world wide (US, EU & JP) a Pre-filled syringe with needle safety system to treat Acromegaly and NET at home. (Somatuline analogue &/with Dopamine)
    - Successfully entered clinical phases 3 with two combination drug device products, patent protected and using licensed-in exclusively for Endocrinology and neurology therapeutical areas. (IGF/GLP1 & Dysport).
    - 3M euro profit increases in analysing & optimising products supply chain with lean distribution.
  • BESPAK, part of Consort Medical - UK, (MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY) - SENIOR PROJECT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

2005 - 2008 * Managed & lead medical device development activities (up to GBP 5M) from design, prototyping to scale-up production including performance verification, injection moulding, assembling & quality/regulatory validation.
    Achievement:
    - Provided consultancy services & business support, winning new manufacturing contracts e.g. project to develop solid-dose needle-less system and mechanical dose counters of up to GBP 15M/year value.
    - Conceptualised and industrialised a disposable single dose drug carrier using a needle free re-usable mechanical actuator (Generic drug in P.h.3) & an electronic based liquid dispenser (Fentanyl drug in P.h.3).
    - Improved the development & industrialisation process in establishing a lean phase's gate approach, risk based together with a global supply chain ranging from low cost labour assemblies (Korea) to high-techs development services (Japan) speeding up delivery by 15% and enabling bespoke service offering.
  • GLAXOSMITHKLINE R&D - UK - ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

2003 - 2005 * Managed a team of 6 multi-disciplines engineers (GBP 2.5M budget) to work in partnership with all scientists.
    * Provided consultancy expertise on technical, commercial & financial aspects of projects to get ''value for money'' and to generate engineering technologies or manufacturing solutions for the future products and their analytical testing methods.
    * Established work methodologies based on communication, technological innovation and risk management using quality tools such as FMEA and outsourcing activities. Used extensively Microsoft Office tools.
    Achievement:
    - Enhanced section`s project portfolio & trust through marketing campaign, internal events & networking for customer acquisition and retention within the whole R&D and Manufacturing divisions (+20 GMP projects).
    - Exposed leading-edge technical and functional knowledge towards internal applications (polymer laser welding, process automation vs. high cost labour/outsourcing, inhalers' can crimp optical measurement system, wireless tracking and measurement process, DPI filling, drug filling and process equipment) .
    - Lead the Automated Next Generation Impactor project representing GSK R&D interests within the Pharmaceutical Consortium which develops a 24-hrs unattended impactor for DPIs, MDIs and Nebulizer .
    - Process automated chemical analysis of dry powders formulation looking at fluid handling system to recover dissolved drug from vessels and rotating equipment's for drug agitation and dissolution.
  • AFONICS LTD - UK - DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

2001 - 2003 * Direct involvement in the management buyout of JDSU Oxford alongside 8 others investors in the role of advancing new concepts for product design and lean fabrication processes of customised novel solutions to expand company product portfolio or winning new contracts (e.g. Avionics, Free Space Optics).
    Achievement:
    - Conceptualised and engineered a Single Mode Optical Mini Contact (CAD, FEA) Military qualified for extreme harsh environment used by a Consortium to replace copper wired equipment's and a sub-sea fibre optic connector. Obtained the DTI Smart award for their development.
    - Project managed the development of a bespoke automated fibre fusion system using strategic alliances enabling to splice fibres into a laser pump amplifier resulting in customer saving of $20M.
    - Developed in-house a Pigtail Optical Isolator used in the light transmission to get a second supply source(c 300k unit/year). This device was made of high performance polymers, quartz & stainless steel materials.
    - Generated and established a fibre plating process (thin film deposition, metallisation and electroless plating) to save $8M, a 75% cost reduction. Co-inventor of 2 records of invention.
  • CORNING INC - USA - AUTOMATION SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEER
